Positivus

Second Positivus festival @ Salacgriva, Latvia. This time we did not get the paradise-like weather like it was last year, we also didn't have our special parking-spot at the Mini Cooper's area. At least we thought so. We were planning to sleep in the car and were not excited to sleep in the middle of thousands of other cars on a field quite far from the festival area. We were with friends on the tents area when suddenly noticed Mini Coopers coming, they opened the special area and hell yes we instantly got there too, by very interesting trails.

On first night Hurts was performing. They were brilliant in live! Later that night we just danced until morning. The next day had the weirdest weather, hot, cold, then hot again, sunny sunny, until it started raining, then sunny again, got cold and hot again.. Go figure.

Chilled at the beach, listened to some Estonian bands: Iiris and Ewert and the Two Dragons - the last one is excellent! It's gonna go far!

In the evening, didn't know what to wait, didn't know much of any of the bands except King Charles, who was up first. His songs are the most chillax and he is crazy. At one point decided to climb up a ladder-like edge of the high stage, then just hang there someway and play a long guitar solo.

Later, Mark Ronson and The Business Intl. Such a party! With sum tricks in our sleeves, we got kind of to the front and luckily decided to stay there when James started to perform. The band was popular in the beginning of the 90's. They still get through to people, the most sincere performers I have seen. I'll never forget the moment when the chorus said "sit down next to me" and the crowd, thousands and thousands of people (according to some sources close to 20 000) just sat down in the mud, the band was stunned. Just stood and smiled, and the crowd took over singing. It was such a magical moment. They later said in twelve years, there has not been such a reaction. They came back twice, invited people to dance on stage, it was the definitely an emotional concert!

The night ended with Röyksopp.

The whole festival was full of random acquaintances who you'll bump into again and again and just chat randomly, laugh and move on.. The festival is worth of its name, so carefree and gives a charge of positive energy until next years time.

Jordan vol 2: Wadi Rum, Aqaba, Al Karak, Dead Sea

From Petra we drove a couple hours towards the Wadi Rum desert, headed first to the Wadi Rum village to register ourselves, then left our car at the designated area at the beginning of the desert and met our host who drove us into the desert in his truck.

Pinkpop vol 2, Megaland, NL

Second time at Pinkpop festival (second year in a row, in fact) and still impressed! The weather was a bit more eventful this year, as last year was a complete heatwave. This year, we got heavy rain on the first day, perfect mild, sunny weather on the second day, and back to the heat on the third day.
