walk the line

I love that time of the year where there are so many new good movies that there is usually no time to see them all. I have had this tradition for ages that I try to watch all of the best Picture, Director, Actor and Actress nominees before the event. I have´t completely managed for a previous couple of years, but did this year (barely). Watched the most easily accessible one (Roma, on Netflix) a day before. Also, haven´t been able to watch Oscars live for the past two years because of work and whatnot, but as Filmzone was screening it live this year, we decided to give it a go again. It´s so much more special to watch it live. Headed to a friend´s place for a watch party with the last bus on Sunday night and wined, dined, chatted and commented on the red carpet outfits until 3 am. Sophie always does that! At least she is the cutest possible living little alarm-clock. Once she actually started barking at nothing at 7.11 am, my clock was supposed to go off 7.10 but I had forgot to set it, so she saved the day and didn't let me be late to work. A lovely ladies night at a "Radio 2 live"  Why I absolutely adore january/february?? OSCARS! So many great movies and so few time to watch them all. Done a pretty good job tho already. " Boyhood " - at first the 2 hours and 45 minutes seemed impossibly long and then it was gone just like that. Every minute of the movie was necessary. Such a human, simple, relatable, down to earth tale.  " Whiplash " - I adore music so I adored the movie too. Crazy intense, possessing, unexpectable movie. And so much respect for Miles Teller! I'm on a mission to watch all the "best picture" nominations. Went to the movies on sunday after training with my mom and saw " Life of Pi ". It managed to make us both cry and not just once. A beautiful story about faith. Great acting, great visuals and Ang Lee has created an incredible movie that leaves a lasting impression. "Faith is a house with many rooms."  "But no room for doubt?"  "Oh plenty, on every floor. Doubt is useful, it keeps faith a living thing. After all, you cannot know the strength of your faith until it's tested." " Silver linings playbook ". Been wanting to see that for ages, especially as Bradley Cooper is in it, but it was a good, sweet, messed up movie. It is not typical for a romantic drama/comedy to be nominated for 8 oscars including the best picture.  " Les Miserables ". As I like musicals, I enjoyed it.
