walk the line

   January 2025. 

 Porto had been on my list for a while, so now, when I was already almost on the border of Spain and Portugal, I had to visit. 

 From Petra we drove a couple hours towards the Wadi Rum desert, headed first to the Wadi Rum village to register ourselves, then left our car at the designated area at the beginning of the desert and met our host who drove us into the desert in his truck. 

 Witnessing world wonders, breathing in history and culture and enjoying the beauty of nature!

  Arrived in Montreal during noon and as all previous days had been very much full of steps and kilometres, decided to take a rest day. Got some food and chilled in the sun on the hostels rooftop. 

Hello Canada! It was a long drive from Chicago to Toronto, but for how cheap it was, it was worth it. Also, there is a certain charm about long bus rides for me. Always meet interesting people and hear interesting stories. There were a couple long-distance bus-drivers on it, riding to their next job destination, so, got to hear a bit of their life and adventures.

September 2023.

 June 2023 Last time we were on a work-trip to Brussels, decided to take advantage of cheap Ryanair mid-Europe flights and flew to Ibiza for a long weekend. Had been wanting to check this party-hub out for some time. It's dreamy, gorgeous, vibrant, fun and quite expensive. So, in my opinion, a long weekend is exactly a right amount of time to be spent there!

  A long weekend to run towards the sun in early April was just what the doctor ordered before finishing the marathon of writing my Masters thesis. Had never been to lake Garda area and now would happily explore the region further!

  Brussels work trips x 4 during Spring 2023

January 2023. Last leg of the January roadtrip led to Portugal. I was near Lisbon on a youth exchange in 2011 when I was just discovering my passion for travel. It was amazing to be back 12 years later and discover even more of this beautiful country. 

  January 2023. So, as mentioned, I flew to Barcelona, spent some time with a good friend of mine, discovering more of Barcelona's food and wine scene and then my continued with a train ride towards Malaga. Also, had my last lecture of autumn semester on the train, and then charged my batteries for two weeks before the last semester of uni and all that thesis writing.

 January 2023. January and February tend to be the months I need vacation the most, as the need for light, warmth and sunshine is getting stronger and stronger. 

  Had the last worktrip of 2022 to Brussels in mid December, so decided to fly in a bit earlier and visit some places we'd wanted to visit for some time. Went to Zurich in Switzerland and did a daytrip to Liechtenstein from there. And later on our way to Brussels, had half a day to discover Strasbourg! Awesome mini roadtrip.

A week in Croatia!  Dubrovnik - Split - Zadar - Krk island - Zagreb

  Bavaria countryside, Munich and Nurenberg, may 2022. A choir trip consisting of series of concerts and exploring Germany. 

As straight after our work trip to Brussels in May, we were supposed to head for another meeting in Hague, Netherlands, there was no reason to go home for the weekend in between. We took a train from Brussels, spent a hot and sunny Sunday in Amsterdam and took another train from there to Hague on Monday.
