walk the line

Good morning Tirana! I liked Albania a lot an it surprised me in many ways, but also, it was the most"Balkan" of the Balkans for me. 

Out of all the Balkan countries we visited this June, I loved Bosnia the most. Mostar and it's surroundings are unbelievably gorgeous and also the gruesome, often sad and very recent history is worth learning about (and from). 

Our trip from Santiago to Mendoza was one of the best examples of Latin-America being on the "Latin time". Our bus was supposed to leave at 9.50 pm from Terminal del Sur. First of all the counter told us the bus will leave from the station 40 to 49. So could be whichever. The station was so overcrowded that you couldn't basically move, walk or stop anywhere. There were buses of different companies coming in and leaving the station every second. It was pretty chaotic. There was no El Rapido bus on time, at least we hoped there wasn't as it was quite hard to be sure when you don't know from where the bus is gonna go exactly. It got 10, then 10.15, we got a bit worried. There were some gentlemen trying to organize the masses of people yelling something into the loud speaker. Then again they had no idea about some El Rapido bus. "If it comes, it comes, then we'll know", they said. When it was 10.30 we were definitely worried. I went back to the counter ...

Sydney is lovely! Still prefer Melbs, but there is nothing to complain here - except the expensiveness, which should not come as a surprise anymore.

Autumn is coming, which means it is time to leave the city and follow summer. The weather outside is cool, dark and rainy and hasn't been great for days now. I know all about the "four seasons in one day" in Melbourne but the experience we had for 3 months was "sunny and crazy hot". I guess we got lucky!

Capel - Bridgetown - Manjimup - Walpole - Denmark - Albany -  Ravensthorp - Esperance

Finished working and leaving Capel tomorrow. Time to head south. Clair helped us organize our route a bit, we literally didn't have any exact plans until just now. First Albany, then Esperance and theennn a looonnnggg deserted way to cross the Nullarbor Plain. The route in total will be more than 3000 km!

10 days too early but who cares, there is no snow nor cold what usually reminds me it's actually christmas (not that I'd miss it), so it might as well be now. Today we celebrated like it is customary to celebrate in OZ and loved every minute of it.

When you find yourself dancing salsa with a bush, then it must be a clear sign, you need time off. 

Friday afternoon headed to Margs again (Margaret River – trying to blend in and use Aussie abbreviations.  Clair went a little earlier with some friends, me and Keiu followed with Bruce a little later. We were one of the last cars who they let pass, as there was an accident on the road and they closed the motorway for hours. Luckily the guy who was trapped in his car, escaped with just a broken leg in the end. Marion and Sarah started driving just a bit later than we did, and were already redirected. Clair and Bruce had rented a house in Margs with their friends. The people varied from ages 21 to 65! We got along so well and had one ultimatefun evening. Everybody had cooked something or brought along food. Sushi, spring rolls, tiny meat-pies, you name it. We delighted others with some Estonian chocolates.
