Getting settled

Went to see " Begin again ". I have been waiting for the movie for quite a while.  Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Adam Levine, Hailee Steinfeld, Cee Lo Green, Catherine Keener. I'd prefer it's original name " Can a Song Save Your Life " but the movie is sweet, not cheesy and full of passion. Music is good and it characterises the life in NY so well, god I miss this city.  Vianney lives in Sweden now and came to visit for a weekend. What a lovely bar-hopping in Tallinn's cool, random, soviet and/or creepy bars.  I rarely watch tv. I mean, I'm addicted to many series but I like to watch them when I have time, not depend upon tv-schedules. This year, after being tired of work: dealing with crazy people for 8 hours straight, answering phone-calls when some Irina or Jelena whose husbands have disappeared without a trace to Russia or somewhere over the ocean, blame me for not letting them get divorced, or some Nikolai doe...

travels part 1: Hong Kong and Macau

One week in Hong Kong. Had time to meet my dear old friends, make new ones and do the touristy stuff. Lantau island, Victoria Peak, Sai Kung national park and beach, markets and Hollywood Road, Soho, Wan Chai party district, art museums, Victoria Harbor and the Avenue of Stars. Hong Kong did not impress me too deeply. It's a mix of Western and Asian, yet unlike Bangkok I didn't find that something that makes it still authentic and special. Also, I managed to catch a cold. Damn AC. But I can only blame myself as every time I was inside I ran towards the ice-cold air-conditioner. The weather was super hot and humid.. No matter day or night, sun or no sun, the moment you put your nose out of the conditioned room you melt and drown in sweat.

Happy Labor Day, and have fun all my people in the U.S!

Gotta have roots before branches

NYC vol 2

Not the way that it should end, it's the way it should begin

Krasimir's leg got a little worse, so me and Christina helped Kane drive the rental cars back. I got pulled over by a cop. He was a real country-town sheriff. I had a license but I couldn't even find car registration from Kane's car. He kept chatting with me for 10 minutes and decided I don't need a ticket! Thank you!! Headed to DC, to do some dance related work again with my dance group from NY. Was a nice trip apart from my wallet getting stolen on a bus. F you thief, I had everything important in there! The conference was good, the performance went well. Also, met up with Anett for dinner, I hadn't seen her for 5 years, when she last was in Estonia. Coming back after a couple of days, stopped at Krasimir's place, helped him clean up and chilled there for a while. It was Tim's birthday, so we went for dinner to a Texas roadhouse. Driving there, had 10 people in one car.. and the cops stopped us. I feel like it's a little bit too many interac...

Don't you blink, you might miss it

NYC continues:

When you're happy like a fool, just let it take you over, when everything is out, you gotta take it in

West Virginia county has been rated one of the worst places in the USA, small town mentalities and such, and a lot of people don't even know the county exists. What Fahad was talking about once, that when his friends found out he is coming to study in WVU, they tried to convince him out of it and scare him with the stories. What I found from one interview once: "What other people call weaknesses, I see as strengths. Are we poor? Or do we value other things besides the accumulation of stuff? Are we “clannish”? Or do we care about our families more? Are we obese? Or do we just love home cookin’?" A lot of what people talk may be true, but first of all, at least Morgantown is a small town that has strong spirit, people are friendly and positive and keep together. The administration and the systems do not indeed often work, but when willing to fight for your rights and be persistent, you'll manage. It is not my place of choice to raise a family, but for stude...

Who am I to tell fate where it's supposed to go with it

Whoever hasn't understood yet, Morgantown's weather is very much bipolar. In less than a week we go from a snowstorm to +22 degrees celsius and bright warm sunshine. Get to study outside in the end of November and renew my tan. Weird! Went to a yoga class and because of the weather we did it outside on the tennis-court, it felt so relaxing, the theme was gratitude and happiness, so it was double-lovely. The weekend was relaxing. Some people went to DC for the weekend, so the house was more quiet.. Went running with Emnet on friday afternoon, my first run outside in Morgantown, the trail alongside the river is a nice place for running. In the evening went to Kane's place, he was inn DC as well but gave his keys to Tito, had an awesome night with the guys, talked, played GTA, some drinking games, listened to good music and most of all experienced with Kane's DJ set, I honestly think we would do a better job than the dj who was playing in Cellar on saturday, it ...
