Happenings in Estonia

"To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived...this is to have succeeded. " (Ralph Waldo Emerson & Bessie A. Stanley)

Went to dance salsa today. Not just salsa, but meringue, cha cha, reggae.. Cuban rhythms and style and a trainer straight from Cuba. Was so incredibly great!

When I went on a tram from Liberty Square to get to the university, there was a guy in his thirties, drinking beer and talking to a lady around the same age "Thank god for that, look, it's such a little bottle, but it's so good, so great, what would you do without that beautiful bottle..." and the lady was as excited.. talking about the little things in life..

Right before entering the languages building in the university happened to hear a section of a conversation of two girls. "Eh, Eiffel Tower, what's so special about that, it's not big, I mean that big, is it?" Just the tone of how she was saying it made me laugh. I hope she has seen the Eiffel tower, or at least a picture of it..

And right before our Spanish class was ending, a cleaning lady marched right in and said something in Russian, we were all staring blankly back at her, especially our teacher, who is Spanish, doesn't speak Russian at all, and looked pretty confused. Then the lady put on her most annoyed and demanding face and snapped "close the door when you leave.. VOT ETO!!"

Don't wanna sound like a broken record, but I wanna travel, so bad, had a nice evening at a salsa-bar "Cubanita" last night with my French exchange ladies, as Sanna is going to Australia in the end of this week. Mojitos, salsa and bachata music, perfect vibe. Tonight met with a bunch of my ex-uni-mates at "The Garden of Von Krahl" as Liisa is going to do her masters in Germany.

Jordan vol 2: Wadi Rum, Aqaba, Al Karak, Dead Sea

From Petra we drove a couple hours towards the Wadi Rum desert, headed first to the Wadi Rum village to register ourselves, then left our car at the designated area at the beginning of the desert and met our host who drove us into the desert in his truck.

Pinkpop vol 2, Megaland, NL

Second time at Pinkpop festival (second year in a row, in fact) and still impressed! The weather was a bit more eventful this year, as last year was a complete heatwave. This year, we got heavy rain on the first day, perfect mild, sunny weather on the second day, and back to the heat on the third day.
