Melbourne vol 3

.. a lovely long weekend.

1. Thursday - The Lumineers!!! We are a bit tight on the budget right now, but it most definitely was the best decision!! What an amazing band, especially in live. It is so joyful and inspiring to watch talented musicians who play all kinds of possible instruments and who enjoy being on stage that much. You could truly feel the passion. The happiness in the room just took over!

caught another street performance after the concert!

2. Friday - Saturday - Australian Open! Neither Keiu or me are huge tennis fans, but, how many times can you witness that event?! Plus, our favorite aussie band was performing there: British India! The first half of the concert everybody was sitting on the ground, it is hard when the music pretty much forces you to dance, when two girls decided they don't care that no one else was dancing, we didn't have to be told twice. And we got double lucky. It was mens semi-finals that day. Nadal vs Federer. Decided to stick around and witness the game on the big screen amongst all true fans.

3. Sunday - Australia Day! Went to a CS rooftop party. I know from experience that CS gatherings are fun, Melbourne didn't disappoint. The beerpong table was a bonus. Got to kick some asses! The police ended the party, as it proves to be usual-casual in Australia. The rooftop was supposed to close at 11pm, nobody noticed until midnight. Hordes of people regrouped to the basement. Found a gym and had a mini-workout. Ended the night dancing.

Monday was apparently the national hangover day. Makes sense.. only Australians make a public holiday for recovering :). Our monday didn't start too excellently. Got a fine for riding in a tram without a ticket. Those bastards!!! 8 am after Australia Day.. really?!

Now back at work, and the heat wave is also back: + 40 C at the moment. Thank you AC!!

Jordan vol 2: Wadi Rum, Aqaba, Al Karak, Dead Sea

From Petra we drove a couple hours towards the Wadi Rum desert, headed first to the Wadi Rum village to register ourselves, then left our car at the designated area at the beginning of the desert and met our host who drove us into the desert in his truck.

Pinkpop vol 2, Megaland, NL

Second time at Pinkpop festival (second year in a row, in fact) and still impressed! The weather was a bit more eventful this year, as last year was a complete heatwave. This year, we got heavy rain on the first day, perfect mild, sunny weather on the second day, and back to the heat on the third day.
