Film and tv edition

Chills!!! Both, the song and the show.

Suits

Stealth - Judgement Day.

It's the Academy Awards season again!  Had already seen "The Big Short", "Steve Jobs" and "The Danish Girl".
Now added: "Joy" - the typical awesome David O. Russells cast + a true story equals to a very enjoyable, feel-good, inspiring movie.

"Room" - a thrilling yet terrific movie about redemption, hope and family bonds.

"The Revenant" - I would never-ever watch it again. It's brutal, gripping, cold, disgusting, cinematographically beautifully made, well-acted... Bravo Inarritu. I have always since "Amores Perros" enjoyed his films. (not that I saw it in 2000 when i was 10 years old, but whenever I saw it). Some where complaining that Leo (YAY for the Oscar, finally!!) did barely say a word and all the gruesome stuff has been done before in Bear Grylls and whatnot.. I do think the movie deserves all the hype it got.

"Brooklyn" - it's playing with a lot of emotions that feel of so familiar. Beautifully acted, honest, simple, joyful and heart aching. Portrays Eilis's journey through years and paints the story with real life emotion. Also the period detail is great.

"Carol" - very slow, but not at all boring. A beautiful romance. Another movie about finding oneself.

"Anomalisa" - a friend of mine is a fan of animated movies, I crashed at his place one evening and he made me watch it, as I usually do not watch any animations. This is no your typical animated movie tho. It's quite a work of art and an imported film, touching deep topics like depression, connection issues, monotony. In my opinion it could have worked better as a short film. I have very much enjoyed Kaufman's earlier films "Being John Malkovich" and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"an am intrigued to see others now as well.

Finally, "Spotlight" -  without a doubt my favourite from the selection and I couldn't be any happier about it's 'Best Picture' win!!! Excellent writing, screenplay, cast, plot. A film that speaks for the injustice in our society. I'll end with not my own words but part of a review that sums it up so perfectly.

"One of the greatest horror films of all time... because by the time the credits roll and you start to breathe normally again, you will suddenly realize that this was not a horror film as such, this was a re-enactment of events that actually happened, with real victims and real perpetrators and real well-meaning third parties covering up the whole thing as fast as the body count kept piling up. And then you will once again have difficulty catching your breath."

Jordan vol 2: Wadi Rum, Aqaba, Al Karak, Dead Sea

From Petra we drove a couple hours towards the Wadi Rum desert, headed first to the Wadi Rum village to register ourselves, then left our car at the designated area at the beginning of the desert and met our host who drove us into the desert in his truck.

Pinkpop vol 2, Megaland, NL

Second time at Pinkpop festival (second year in a row, in fact) and still impressed! The weather was a bit more eventful this year, as last year was a complete heatwave. This year, we got heavy rain on the first day, perfect mild, sunny weather on the second day, and back to the heat on the third day.
