Brussels, Belgium

2 - 4 of October 2017.

It was a work-trip, but as I had never been to Brussels I was quite excited.

The  main square aka The Grand Place is a square containing the Town Hall and Guild Halls, also many restaurants, pubs, chocolate and waffle shops. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is quite understandable the moment you set eyes on it. It screams historic and majestic. On that evening it was all lit up in purple, which made it even more memorable.

Manneken Pis, a tiny bronze statue of a small boy, who has been a peeing fountain since the early 17th century.

There were student days happening all over old town, so it was especially crowded.

PS: There is also Jeanneke Pis - a peeing girl and Zinneke Pis - a peeing dog hidden nearby in the old town.

We were staying at hotel Metropole - a beautiful, old, aristocratic-looking hotel on the border of old town.

A Mexican place Chi-Chi's with great cocktails.

I started hiccuping and could not stop anymore. Our laughter gave quite a spectacle for the staff, so they kindly "forgot" to kick us out when they were closing. They hinted that maybe we would like to pay a good hour later.

A's (one of many) birthdays. Theme: minions.

See you later Brussels!

Italy June 2025: Treviso, Venice, Milan, Lecco

We bought tickets to see Linkin Park in Milan a while ago. When June was approaching, flight schedules had changed and traveling to Milan had suddenly become quite expensive (there have been times I have flown back and forth with around 30 eur). As weather in Estonia wasn't that great anyhow, decided to take a bit longer vacation. Fly into Treviso and went to Venice. I had been to "mainland" Venice several times before, but never to Venice Beach.
