A beautiful long weekend!  April 2016

Spring stories

My first self-made pasha for Easter Eeva Talsi & Juhan Aru at National Library. Tallinn Music Week! TMW Talks: "Music and Politics" Pop-up restaurant Fellin. (Regularly based in Viljandi). Exquisite tastes, awesome customer service. This year I was the happiest that "The Elliots" returned to Tallinn. We met and heard them play first in the beginning of September at Red Emperor bar. As we had more or less recently returned from Australia and I cannot point out enough how much we adored and miss Aussie (especially Melbourne's) music scene, hearing a band from Melbs is in town required being checked out. Verdict: they're awesome!  And Julio came to visit! PS! Estonia was voted Lonely Planet's number one best value destination of 2016! Been experimenting with vegan cakes lately (peanut butter-coconut cream)
Another excellent song from Suits.

Love you, always!

Film and tv edition

Chills!!! Both, the song and the show. Suits Stealth - Judgement Day.    It's the Academy Awards season again!  Had already seen "The Big Short", "Steve Jobs" and "The Danish Girl". Now added: " Joy " - the typical awesome David O. Russells cast + a true story equals to a very enjoyable, feel-good, inspiring movie. " Room " - a thrilling yet terrific movie about redemption, hope and family bonds. " The Revenant " - I would never-ever watch it again. It's brutal, gripping, cold, disgusting, cinematographically beautifully made, well-acted... Bravo Inarritu. I have always since "Amores Perros" enjoyed his films. (not that I saw it in 2000 when i was 10 years old, but whenever I saw it). Some where complaining that Leo (YAY for the Oscar, finally!!) did barely say a word and all the gruesome stuff has been done before in Bear Grylls and whatnot.. I do think the movie deserves all the hype it got. " Br...

98th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia

Happy independence day Estonia!

Winter wonderland

This is what winter should look like. Will not complain over the cold or traffic or having to dig out my car five times a day - this weather is awesome.  Some amazing food at restaurant 'Salt'. The octopus!! And equally as much the Eton Mess cake and Gorgonzola cheesecake One saturday morning had a huge mock trial in criminal law as the last examination in that subject. I was a prosecutor so had to do tons of research, write speeches, present them, submit evidence and cross-examine witnesses. I think I haven't been that nervous in a long time than the evening/night before the exam. It was held in an actual courthouse before a judge. We had to also find people to play our witnesses. Thanks again Ingrid for being an excellent - a bit senile but with an exceptional sense of smell - nosy neighbour. Our accused person was awesomely believable as well. All in all the process lasted almost 3 hours and luckily the nerves calmed do...

Holiday mashup

White Gospel. I love gospel music. Also, I've been singing (literally) half my life and still often miss it, that's why I sing along to radio while driving aaalll the time at the top of my lungs. Keius 27th! Work celebrations with our self-made goodies. Köögilaboratoorium - great place for holding events.   Estonian Voices - such a cool bunch of musicians!   Wonderfully warm and lovely evening with our dance studio.  My two sleepy lovelies! Sophie's new friend and playmate Blacky   Cheesecake truffles and 'vana-tallinn' truffles puff-pastry dough, pesto sauce and cheese! Voila, a christmas-tree. Family time at restaurant Rae .  May 2016 come more peaceful and hopeful than 2015.
