USA vol 2: NYC

What a great feeling to be back in New York City after quite some years.

New York, USA: concrete jungle where dreams are made of

Autumn stories

Friends from Germany were visiting Tallinn as a part of their journalism project. They interviewed us on the topic about studying in Estonia, so we are totally famous in German media now. Kidding aside, we showed them old town of Tallinn, visited some hip places and had a jenga marathon on a monday night at Red Emperor's bar with some Erasmus exchange students. Mondays out can be much fun. Baked some good old apple-cake with my grandmother. I'm always asked what is the traditional cuisine of Estonia. And I never know exactly what to say, this could sure be one of them. And it suits perfectly into a chilly autumny after-work afternoon, with a huge cup of (self-grown) peppermint tea.  Visited Ingrid to catch up, Annabel is growing so fast! Went to see Woody Allen's newest movie " Blue Jasmine ". If you enjoy Woody, you'll enjoy this. Even more, it's one of his best probably. The same movie from somebody else and with less awesome casting would...

Late night rambling

" It is redundant to ask from a person who has studied or worked abroad, why did he/she do that. It's like asking why does one read books or love theatre. The feeling of breathing the air abroad is the same - impossible to describe. Even less possible is to open up the essence of that completely new person that one who has lived abroad sooner or later discovers within him/herself. " - from a book "My Spain" by A-M Penu.

BACK IN NEW YORK, AND IT FEELS LIKE HOME!

Back in Estonia

It has been pretty weird being back after a long time. Trying to make the best of it.

So much to feel good about

NYC:   Tuesday was the first time for me to sing in a while, and did it with a live band. Went to Brother Jimmy's with Gabby to have a southern dinner and discover some cool cocktails. Swamp water - a cocktail that comes in a fish-bowl, and has crocodiles in it. Wilson (Usa) was playing guitar in the live band, and we sang some Green Day with the girls, and later some Bon Jovi with Fernando. After the gig went to Brooklyn with Gaby and Wilson, played pool for quite some time and ended the night at his place, with Modelo Especial and his delicious home cooked pasta! Before leaving to Morgantown for another long weekend, had to say goodbye to Jihye as she is going back to South-Korea today, I'm gonna miss her so much, should start planning a reunion NOW! MORGANTOWN:  During 4,5 days in Morgantown were tripping around so much, that to watch back the pictures now, seems like it was a month. There just is something magical about Morgantown. L...

Don't you blink, you might miss it

NYC continues:

The day that you stop running is the day that you arrive

First up, DC.  It has been a relaxing couple of weeks. Met mom in the airport and the couple of days we were in Washington DC, we were mainly playing tourists, driving and walking around and did a little pre-Christmas shopping. Went to see the White House and Capitol and walked around in the parks and historical locations.

Who am I to tell fate where it's supposed to go with it

Whoever hasn't understood yet, Morgantown's weather is very much bipolar. In less than a week we go from a snowstorm to +22 degrees celsius and bright warm sunshine. Get to study outside in the end of November and renew my tan. Weird! Went to a yoga class and because of the weather we did it outside on the tennis-court, it felt so relaxing, the theme was gratitude and happiness, so it was double-lovely. The weekend was relaxing. Some people went to DC for the weekend, so the house was more quiet.. Went running with Emnet on friday afternoon, my first run outside in Morgantown, the trail alongside the river is a nice place for running. In the evening went to Kane's place, he was inn DC as well but gave his keys to Tito, had an awesome night with the guys, talked, played GTA, some drinking games, listened to good music and most of all experienced with Kane's DJ set, I honestly think we would do a better job than the dj who was playing in Cellar on saturday, it ...
