Melbourne vol 4

.. about Superbowl, parades, movies and concerts

Yesterday the main topic around - well - everywhere - was Superbowl XLVIII. Denver Broncos v Seattle Seahawks. The first game held in winter settings, on Metlife stadium in NJ. The saddest game in a long long time, as tho Broncos opened their score in the end of the game, they still lost 8:43. At some point it did seem, they had totally given up. We went to the Public Bar near Victoria Market with some americans. US beer on tap, street food, chicken and waffles.. The bar was packed - full of fans on a monday morning! Luckily I was on the Seahawks side as some of my friends had bet money on them and I was hoping they won't lose it!!

A nostalgic moment once again. Takes me back to the awesome game of 2012. New York Giants v New England Patriots. Close game through all of it and NY won 21:17 in the end. We had a traditional watch-party in WV, decided to go out on a sunday night after that to celebrate. And I was headed back to NY on the next day where the after-parties continued until the end of the week!

Bruno Mars's halftime show was good, the visuals and the power of the image made it great! And the commercials.. well, as ever, half really weird and half truly awesome!

On sunday we celebrated the lunar new year with all the dancing dragons, rumbling drums and aggressive fire crackers in Chinatown.

In the afternoon continued the celebrations at St. Kilda. The last day of Midsummer festival. Pride 2014 - gay parade to the beach and live performances and dancing in the park there.

Saturday night supported "The Deep End" in Espy. The boys are going on an European tour and this was their farewell concert. Their music may not be 100 percent my cup of tea while listening from headphones but they are absolutely amazing in live. Plus, they and "Hail Mary" were the two bands that started our obsession with rock-concerts here in Australia.

On the endnote, continued watching movies with Academy Award nominations. "The Wolf of Wall Street". 100% must see! Absolutely entertaining and if DiCaprio doesn't win male lead for that, I do not know what else could he do. The dialogues make the movie extra memorable! Loved every second of it!

Jordan vol 2: Wadi Rum, Aqaba, Al Karak, Dead Sea

From Petra we drove a couple hours towards the Wadi Rum desert, headed first to the Wadi Rum village to register ourselves, then left our car at the designated area at the beginning of the desert and met our host who drove us into the desert in his truck.

Pinkpop vol 2, Megaland, NL

Second time at Pinkpop festival (second year in a row, in fact) and still impressed! The weather was a bit more eventful this year, as last year was a complete heatwave. This year, we got heavy rain on the first day, perfect mild, sunny weather on the second day, and back to the heat on the third day.
