Krasimir's
leg got a little worse, so me and Christina helped Kane drive the rental
cars back. I got pulled over by a cop. He was a real
country-town sheriff. I had a license but I couldn't even find car
registration from Kane's car. He kept chatting with me for 10 minutes
and decided I don't need a ticket! Thank you!!
Headed
to DC, to do some dance related work again with my dance group from
NY. Was a nice trip apart from my wallet getting stolen on a bus.
F you thief, I had everything important in there! The conference
was good, the performance went well. Also, met up with Anett for
dinner, I hadn't seen her for 5 years, when she last was in Estonia.
Coming
back after a couple of days, stopped at Krasimir's place, helped him
clean up and chilled there for a while. It was Tim's birthday, so we
went for dinner to a Texas roadhouse. Driving there, had 10 people in
one car.. and the cops stopped us. I feel like it's a little bit too
many interactions with cops in one week. Basically, Kane didn't have
the inspection certificate, drivers license, the people on the back
didn't have seat belts on, plus there was too many of them, and then
there was us.. in the trunk. Luckily, they just gave him a warning
and a 20 dollars fine. The most embarrassing moment came when the
officer opened the trunk and we had to get out, holding back laughter
so hard, not knowing if to say sorry or thank you. The moment still
makes me laugh. The food was extremely delicious and we gave a secret
hint to the staff, that Tim is the birthday boy, so he got a very
loud and noisy happy birthday and "Jiiiiiihhhaaaa". We had
bought him an ice-cream cake from Coldstone, which was lighted up and
tasted amazing as well. After dinner another international night out
altogether at Cellar. Back at I-House, borrowed Yuki's guitar and
chilled down in the laundry room with Chris. Just when about to go to
bed the guys decided to start a war on the 3rd floor. Shaving cream,
cupcake icing.. Whole 3rd floor looked like a war zone. I was dying
of laughter and glad, we were not busted and kicked out of the house.
Thursday
- eggghunt! Easter is here, we colored some real eggs, and hunt for
chocolate eggs, running around like kids, gotta love these moments. A
house party at Kane's, always a blast! Met everybody at Esteban's
later downtown. Plus of course the usual casual craziness on the 3rd
floor to end the night. Today, had
breakfast altogether in the house and an international lunch at Nick
and Britney's house. A calm, fun afternoon, discussing the world and
the customs. It's amazing to have people from more than 10 different
nations at one table.
Had
a really really good last weekend, including a pretty crazy
LOCO-themed proper party-night on saturday. Love my people to bits!
Went
to the movies on sunday: "American Reunion" is a lovely
movie. Ate delicious chinese at Lavender and had a passionfruit
bubble-tea, which probably is one of my favorite drinks ever, had an
evening chillout at the I-House, sneaking some Mexican beer inside,
listening some new fraternity pledges sing all kind of funny songs
(with pretty decent voices), and at midnight decided to watch "The
Help". Oh cruel cruel world, I liked the movie a lot, it was
honest and sincere, the jokes were so on point and it was not overly
dramatic but the reality gave the emotion.
Monday,
the last day in Morgantown, especially the night. Everybody had so
much stuff to do, but still came out to Shooters. We had the whole
bar to ourselves, had a blast! When Chris, Seb, Vianney and some
others had to leave but 5 minutes later came back for a last beer..
it led to a long night. Ended it on top of Morgantown, literally.
Went back to the condemned houses and had the last look over the
town. Tuesday morning was the hardest. The saying good bye part again.. when it finally hit me, I could not stop crying,
I
am gonna miss all that spontaneity, how we go out, how we end up in
random places, how we sometimes act like kids and have so much fun
going crazy, the anything-but-ordinary conversations, or just go to
Wal-Mart to race the small golf-cars, drive in regular cars with 10
people inside, etc etc.. there are so many stories, so many
memories.. I had the time of my life.. really did. In Morgantown, in NYC and all other places we visited, the dancing scene in NY, the incredible opportunity
thanks to Jess and Alex, the kids I taught, Couchsurfing events and
all the wonderful people I met through that, all over the world.. the
gallery openings and open-bars, cool indie concerts, gospel church,
the streets that never sleep, the urban streets filled with graffiti,
good food.. the weirdest people on the streets or in the subway,
Nicky's Harlem palace, all kind of holidays and festivals from every
culture.. These are just some of the things to remember
forever.. and the people - deep-deep in my heart!
