Andorra

 January 2023.

January and February tend to be the months I need vacation the most, as the need for light, warmth and sunshine is getting stronger and stronger.

This is why I escaped to south of Spain and Portugal in January. As the flight was to Barcelona, decided to visit Andorra as well, as it literally was the third try to go to Andorra and life got in the way before. It was easy and cheap to get to Andorra la Vella from Barcelona by ALSA bus. When buying both ways together with them, the route back is only ca 5 EUR. The journey took a bit over 3 hours.

La Noblesse du Temps (The Nobility of Time), created by the Catalan surrealist artist Salvador Dalí in 1977. It symbolizes the passage of time and its dominion over humans.

The Paris bridge

Plaça Lidia Armengol ( Plaça de 7 Poetes), a lovely square bordered by sculptures by a Catalan artist Jaume Plensa. It's very close to the bus station, so also a good place to start the tour in Andorra la Vella.

Despite having less than 20 000 inhabitants (population of whole Andorra is around 78 000), Andorra la Vella receives more than 10 million tourists annually. People mainly go either to see the mountains and ski or snowboard, or for shopping. International brands are tax-free in Andorra. There are malls on every corner of the main street - Meritxell Avenue.

Local buses are easy to navigate and go up to. the mountains!

The towering glass building is a very cool SPA (Caldea spa complex) that I did not have time to go this time. See you next time Andorra!

Jordan vol 2: Wadi Rum, Aqaba, Al Karak, Dead Sea

From Petra we drove a couple hours towards the Wadi Rum desert, headed first to the Wadi Rum village to register ourselves, then left our car at the designated area at the beginning of the desert and met our host who drove us into the desert in his truck.

Pinkpop vol 2, Megaland, NL

Second time at Pinkpop festival (second year in a row, in fact) and still impressed! The weather was a bit more eventful this year, as last year was a complete heatwave. This year, we got heavy rain on the first day, perfect mild, sunny weather on the second day, and back to the heat on the third day.
