Back in Estonia

It has been pretty weird being back after a long time. Trying to make the best of it.

One of my oldest friends, Markus, is in Tallinn for a couple of weeks before going off to Australia.. I'm sure nobody in Australia would look at you with a face like "what is estonia" as it repeatedly happens in The States. Since past 5 years or so, more and more Estonians are doing the work and travel thing in Australia. I'm starting to think it would be cool to do it one day too.

We were hanging out with Markus and a couple old friends the day before yesterday and decided to play basketball for old times sake. I got another sign, that basketball is not my sport! Playing with guys was a little aggressive but nothing exactly rough happened, still yesterday I woke up and my ribs hurt pretty bad, it was still possible to do everything, tho a good idea would have been to rest for a day, as for the evening the pain got much worse. It was impossible to sleep and today it has not been any better, so I've just been watching movies and being as still as possible.

Did discover a good movie. "Crazy, stupid love". Nothing groundbreaking, as it is a "romantic comedy" but it's genuine. Good acting. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling make an adorable couple and the story of their first night together was pretty original as events turn out. Stone is hilarious and Gosling just nails his every line. Steve Carrell and Julianne Moore as well have such good moments. It's bittersweet, humiliating, touching and funny at the same time.

Some hot talent out there!! I'm rooting for them and waiting for new songs!

On Sunday we were filming a promotion video for our dance camp with people from our dance studio. We got so into it and carried away during the process and spent hours to film in many different locations. Somewhere half way I was like, how is it possible to edit all this together.. Now, when we're done, it comes out that the clips don't fit together.. shocker. At least we know better next time, 1. it's more progressive to actually plan it out visually before, and 2. less is more. The day was still lovely. The weather was incredible. Sunbathing on small boats, ending up on a "deserted island" and barbecuing.

"So you think you can dance" season 9. Since I had a chance to go and see the live recording of the show in NY this January as my friend competed, it brings back warm memories. I truly enjoyed the recordings, mainly because the filming was quite sincere, nothing was forced on the crowd like in the recording of some other talent shows when the crowd is told when to give a standing ovation or when to scream or what to say in an interview. The judges were communicating with the dancers and the audience and the atmosphere was fun and carefree! There is a lot of talent in this show, and a lot is played on emotions, yes, it is to attract the viewers, but also to just make someone's day better. A lot about the show is spontaneous, just like that Dallas audition. I actually think the girl has a lot of talent, but her daughter is just way too adorable.

From NY auditions, my favourite guy is this street-dancer. I remember seeing him live, he truly makes it seem effortless.

Ibiza, Spain

June 2023 Last time we were on a work-trip to Brussels, decided to take advantage of cheap Ryanair mid-Europe flights and flew to Ibiza for a long weekend. Had been wanting to check this party-hub out for some time. It's dreamy, gorgeous, vibrant, fun and quite expensive. So, in my opinion, a long weekend is exactly a right amount of time to be spent there!
