Nice - Cannes - Monaco

If I would be a travel-bloger I would be a terrible one, as posts about my travels come two months after the trip.  In the beginning of May when I was over-exhausted with school and work and everything else, a short getaway to warmth and sunshine was well-needed.

Summer stories vol 1: June

Perfect summer soundtrack. June has been full of celebrations: graduations, birthdays and all other achievements and life moments wort celebrating. It feels like we've been eating cake and candy every other day at work. I turned 26. Strawberry season started. Estonian strawberries beat all other strawberries.  Finally got to visit Põhjaka manor. A beautiful restaurant in an old manor house with Estonian cuisine and the menu changes daily. It's rated as a high-class restaurant. Loved the atmosphere and the food. Also they sell craft beers and ciders, sweets, bread and herb butters to go. Had a late lunch in Jäneda when got lost on Tartu-Tallinn highway, which is pretty much a straight road of 186 km from one city to another. GPS sent us on a detour and we weren't smart enough to realize before we had already driven around 90 km of it. One of these blonde moments I suppose.  Because Sophie loves being outside more than anyth...

Latin Legum Magister

Graduation: Master of Law! It has been a long road and this past spring has been a hard one. I was sure until November 2015, that I will take a year off and proceed then with the thesis, but, thanks to the right people I got inspired and motivated enough to do it now. Never have I ever made a better decision!  Throughout these five years of law-school and everything in between, there have been countless sleepless nights, long schooldays, long school-evenings, long weekends in school, days and days spent in libraries (until the bell sounds and orders us to leave), so many wtf moments, yet, so many memories made, life-long friendships, lots of laughter and support, inside jokes and unforgettable moments. I wouldn't be a member of ELSA if I wouldn't have been a law student. These summer-schools, winter-schools, motivating events and delegations abroad (United Nations!!) I'll never forget. Last but not least, I wouldn't change my exchange-year in USA for anything, ...

Queen + Adam Lambert

I have loved the Queen's music since.. since I have been loving music, which has been for a looong time. I cannot even start what it meant seeing them live in Estonia. I wish I could have seen Queen with Freddie Mercury once, but this is the next best thing.  Adam is not trying to be Freddie and as he is such a character with an amazing voice and amazing spirit, it all works so well. I have been following Adam since American Idol and have now seen him live twice, as he came to Tallinn in April too, touring with his own songs. That concert was amazing, but yesterday was just perfection. Those guitar solos, those drum solos, those songs. Such a special night. Adam Lambert live @ Rock Cafe, Tallinn  Queen + Adam Lambert live @ Song Festival Grounds, Tallinn

Simple Plan

Incredible nostalgia. Taking me back to when I was 15. It was such an important band when I was an angry teen. Haven't really listened to them in years but know every old song by heart. Such a great, personal concert! They're exactly like they were years ago. I love seeing people loving doing what they're doing.

see the music, hear the dance

The best thing about being done with school is to watch a movie on a Friday evening without feeling guilty that I'm not studying for some exam, learning some speech or writing my thesis paper. Graduation on the 17th of June! Watched "High Strung". So full of cliches, full of stereotypes, random and unrealistic moments, but all the dance scenes are great, the music is absolutely beautiful and the classical and the contemporary are mixed so well. Keenan Kampa is gorgeous! As a bonus there are some uplifting moments and heart-warming scenes. And the final dance is so worth sharing!

Helsinki, Finland

I've always thought Helsinki to be quite a random city to visit, maybe because it is so close and as a kid and early teen I've been there a million times, but also because there is not much to do. Well, we went to Mumford and The Sons concert on Saturday (I have to just stress out again how much I love bands that are true performers, their live was so good!). We stayed at Felix and Sara's seaside apartment and had a blast with them. Went for some turkish buffet for lunch, spent time in Kiasma (more like ran out of time), went for a few drinks to Molotov bar at the hipsterish area and walked around the areas I've never been to. After the concert met with their flatmate and his coworkers and had a lovely glass of wine at a central hotel. Helsinki can be heaps of fun!

How to write a masters thesis in 48 hours ?!   Long story short, although I was more-or-less done with my thesis by mid-march, I had to rewrite more than half of it in the last minute. I never wanna feel like how I felt on a Wednesday, 5 days before the date to hand the thesis in. In complete shock, hopeless and quite ready to give up. I am so so grateful to the people who were there for me and forced me to keep going.  Worked from Wednesday evening to Friday late afternoon quite non-stop and I was ready to send it again and headed to Käsmu myself for a long weekend full of dance and great moments. To receive a letter on Saturday afternoon, that I should finish my paper and hand it in on Monday, was incredible, and suddenly all these hundreds of thousands of lost nerve cells felt worth it.  Pictures by Kati!
