Tutunup diaries vol 2

Saturday was our well-earned day off. Woke up still relatively early. We needed to get our bank cards done, that was the main reason we headed to Busselton. Discovered banks are still closed on Saturdays. Which should've not become as a surprise as everything is opened as less as possible nearby hear. Basically, as we usually work 8am to 4.30 pm and it takes almost half an hour to and off work, everything is closed by the time we get home.

Headed to the beach in Busselton and got our first official ocean-swim. Walked on Busselton jetty. An almost 2 km long wooden pier into the sea. The longest in the southers hemisphere. Aaandd celebrated our first successful work-week with a beer in a pub. Aussie beers are nice. Our current favorites include Little Creatures pale ale and Coopers celebration ale.

We usually hitchhike wherever we go.

It is legal in WA, tho we were not sure how common it is. Going to Busselton we had to wait around 10 minutes until an elderly couple, who actually came from the opposite way, but headed to a family reunion near Busselton, so they took us to town. On our way back tho we barely managed to put our thumb up when a car stopped. A dad with a young daughter took us half way (The distance between Busselton and Capel is around 26 km). The moment he dropped us, another car stopped. A young man, who was slipping beer while driving, as we later discovered, when he offered us one too. He took us directly to our main street in Capel and while we were already walking home, drove after us and pretty-much forced us to take couple of beers for our “long” walk home. People are extra friendly here, we realize more every day.

Back to work on sunday. Did only half a day tho. And headed to the beach with Liv and Sinead. We ended up driving the wrong direction, so decided to go to Busselton beach again, swam and just lay there and fell asleep every after five minutes. In the evening had our first aussie BBQ. A really great feast with Clair and Bruce and the german girls. Gotta love sundays! Also Clair baked another traditional aussie dessert. Sticky Date Pudding! Yum!

Gotta love the awesomely random street-and-place names in Aussie.

Apparently it's already Christmas, they have even special snowy-decorated shops set up.

My old iPhone gave up on me finally. It's my unlocked travel phone, it has literally gone everywhere and survived so much. More than five years for an iPhone is still pretty decent. Got a new more-or-less cheap phone from Busselton. I'm a Samsung user now.. that's a first, and honestly, I do not entirely hate the phone!

Jordan vol 2: Wadi Rum, Aqaba, Al Karak, Dead Sea

From Petra we drove a couple hours towards the Wadi Rum desert, headed first to the Wadi Rum village to register ourselves, then left our car at the designated area at the beginning of the desert and met our host who drove us into the desert in his truck.

Pinkpop vol 2, Megaland, NL

Second time at Pinkpop festival (second year in a row, in fact) and still impressed! The weather was a bit more eventful this year, as last year was a complete heatwave. This year, we got heavy rain on the first day, perfect mild, sunny weather on the second day, and back to the heat on the third day.
