Vienna - Budapest

December 2018.

In the end of Austrian presidency headed to Vienna for another EJN network meeting. Also in time for an incredibly beautiful christmas market "Vienna Magic of Advent" at the City Hall Square. It was proper shining fairytale land.

A very viennese first dinner with Wienerschnitzel and local beer.

Stayed at the lovely Fleming's Selection hotel near old-town.

Off to work.

Official dinner at the Austrian Ministry of Justice.

Sacher cakes made by the original recipe from the Sacher hotel.

Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna.

We were offered a guided tour at the Bruegel exhibition. The guide was extremely passionate and the artwork was really interesting to look at with all the extra details.

After work and a lovely afternoon at the museum and another Christmas market caught a Regiojet bus to Budapest. PS: Regiojet is quite a fun way to travel, offers tea, coffee and hot chocolate and each seat has screens with pretty good movie choices (most of the screens work as well).

I was in Budapest a year ago and absolutely loved it, so I was happy to go back for a weekend. When in Budapest, took a Christmas tram in shiny lights to the city centre.

Back at the Szimpla Kert, the most famous ruin bar in Budapest.

I will never get enough of Langos! Such unhealthy, greasy, absolutely perfect comfort-food!

It was supposed to be +4, ended up to be around -1 and snowing hard.

Hungarian Parliament Building.

As we were not prepared for the icy roads the slipping and sliding up and down the Castle hill to Fisherman's bastion.

A night of many ruin bars and Hungarian Pálinka.

See you next time Budapest, hopefully already in summer, I have my mind set on Sziget festival.

Jordan vol 2: Wadi Rum, Aqaba, Al Karak, Dead Sea

From Petra we drove a couple hours towards the Wadi Rum desert, headed first to the Wadi Rum village to register ourselves, then left our car at the designated area at the beginning of the desert and met our host who drove us into the desert in his truck.

Pinkpop vol 2, Megaland, NL

Second time at Pinkpop festival (second year in a row, in fact) and still impressed! The weather was a bit more eventful this year, as last year was a complete heatwave. This year, we got heavy rain on the first day, perfect mild, sunny weather on the second day, and back to the heat on the third day.
