October 2024.
As it was Hungary's Presidency term, our first autumn meeting took us to Budapest.
As I have been to Budapest before, there was not much touristing around, more touristy info here and here.
Had a lovely reception on a boat cruise on river Danube.
Went to a Michelin mentioned restaurant Hoppa! Bistro. The vibe was great, food was good but not mindblowing.
As we stayed for a weekend after the work event, moved out of the hotel, and into a very cool and quirky hostel: Lavender Circus.
Went to the Great Market Hall to hunt some truffles.
Obviously, ate Langos (still my guilty pleasure)
Hung out at ruin bars
Had a really nice brunch at Fekete cafeteria
Crossed the river and had a stroll at the Buda area!
Went to the Széchenyi Thermal Baths. Not exactly the same as spa-s in Estonia, but very enjoyable, especially the outside area.
Also, found this small underground bar with live music, Lampas. As Budapest has gotten a lot more pricy than I remembered, this place has the prices I remembered. They are very strict about their closing time tho, when it's closing time, they literally kick you out on the minute.
