Krakow, June 2026

We went to an international choir competition with our choir for the first time this June. It went quite well, so we are already thinking about a next one. This time, the competition took us to the international Krakow choir festival Crakovia Cantans. I've been to Krakow a couple times before and will happily always go back. Definitely my favourite Polish town. This post will just be a quick recap, for actual information on the city: try here

First days were quite rainy, thankfully it improved.

We did a little sunset river cruise on the first evening on the Vistula river. Safe to say, there were now sunset views, but saw the dragon!

We were staying a little out of center near the  Zakrzówek Park limestone quarry. With sunny weather it's one of my favourite places in Krakow, but allows nice morning walks with threatening clouds as well.

Our first practice was in the hotels parking garage.

It was unbelievably hard to find rehearsal space in Krakow. So, the second rehearsal was in the church where we had our first concert and the rest were in a nearby Hilton hotel. The competition was held in local music schools. Ours, was in the other end of the town and there we had very limited time to have stage rehearsal before the event started.

Church of St. Catherine and St. Margaret

Restauracja Smakolyki - lovely local food!

Turistas!

First day of competition!

And second day in the folklore category - So we got to show our beautiful Halliste traditional clothes

Gala and award ceremony at the Krakow Philharmonic Hall

I also got to celebrate my birthday in Poland this year

A little fair on a Saturday morning and touristing around in old town

Pierogiiii

A met me in Krakow for the weekend and we headed to Brussels for work afterwards.

When in Poland.

And obviously finishing this post with more pierogi... Such a guilty pleasure.

Italy June 2025: Treviso, Venice, Milan, Lecco

We bought tickets to see Linkin Park in Milan a while ago. When June was approaching, flight schedules had changed and traveling to Milan had suddenly become quite expensive (there have been times I have flown back and forth with around 30 eur). As weather in Estonia wasn't that great anyhow, decided to take a bit longer vacation. Fly into Treviso and went to Venice. I had been to "mainland" Venice several times before, but never to Venice Beach.
