Don't let the bastards get you down

Just got back from Tallinn's rooftop cinema. Such a nice invention, the vibe of that place is awesome. An open air movie theatre on top of a shopping centre. Instead of cinema chairs there are beach chairs, as the movies start a little before midnight and the nights in Estonia are not usually the warmest, blankets ara available to keep warm. Everybody has their own headphones, the sound is not bad as well.

The movie we went to see, was brilliant! "The greatest movie ever sold". A documentary about branding and advertising. About product placement. About making a movie totally financed by different brands. Made in a really original and clever way. It's by Morgan Spurlock (also the author of "Supersize me"). This dude is a genius! The movie itself was pretty much marketing 101, but, if you are interested in the topic, you might learn more than in a lecture. To balance things out, there is a lot of humour in there. Irony on top of irony!  It's basically  a documentary inside a documentary: a movie about making a movie, at the time it already is a movie.. If you get what I mean. Despite the humour about the movie, it probably does not appeal to masses, but if marketing and media is your thing, it's a must.

As JJ-Street is organizing a youth exchange in Estonia in July, it is the leaders meeting this weekend. France, Finland and Portugal. It was awesome to see Sam again. Me and Annu, went to pick them up from the airport and also chilled with them pretty much the whole day. Good times and good food!

Yesterday me, Liisa and her brother escaped to Estonian summer-capital Pärnu. It was almost +30 degrees, the sea was warm, we swam and did not wanna come out, built some sand-castles, walked around and visited the best pizza place in Estonia: Steffani pizza. Before heading back to the chilly capital, also watched the game: Portugal vs Czech Republic. Portugal won! (Although, my number one is still Spain, as tomorrow they are going to hopefully win France, they are going against Portugal in semi-finals, and it is gonna be an interesting game!).

On wednesday, it was the graduation of the Law Department of University of Tartu. I would have (hopefully, probably) graduated if I would have not spent this year abroad instead. (Which I would not exchange for anything!) I did my friends hair in the morning. After some running around we headed to the National Library of Estonia. And the graduation ceremony was inspiring for me as well. We get to graduate in gowns and college hats and make a photo where everybody throws their hats up in the air. I bet it is a liberating feeling, something great you have just completed. I wanna experience that! So, a promise to myself, I'll be there next year!

Ibiza, Spain

June 2023 Last time we were on a work-trip to Brussels, decided to take advantage of cheap Ryanair mid-Europe flights and flew to Ibiza for a long weekend. Had been wanting to check this party-hub out for some time. It's dreamy, gorgeous, vibrant, fun and quite expensive. So, in my opinion, a long weekend is exactly a right amount of time to be spent there!
