Tutunup diaries vol 8: everything essential is invisible

Friday afternoon headed to Margs again (Margaret River – trying to blend in and use Aussie abbreviations.

Clair went a little earlier with some friends, me and Keiu followed with Bruce a little later. We were one of the last cars who they let pass, as there was an accident on the road and they closed the motorway for hours. Luckily the guy who was trapped in his car, escaped with just a broken leg in the end. Marion and Sarah started driving just a bit later than we did, and were already redirected. Clair and Bruce had rented a house in Margs with their friends. The people varied from ages 21 to 65! We got along so well and had one ultimatefun evening. Everybody had cooked something or brought along food. Sushi, spring rolls, tiny meat-pies, you name it. We delighted others with some Estonian chocolates. (Already got orders what to send to people in packages later.)

The main purpose of the trip was a concert. BRITISH INDIA !!! Clairs favorite band. She played us their music couple of weeks ago, since then we have been a bit obsessed as well, even more now - they are incredible in live! I do not remember the last time I got to scream and jump around at a concert so much.

The warm-up band “Unbroken Expanse” was good as well. The lead singer reminded me of Russell Brand. As we found out later on, his fun personality did too. Clair introduced us to the band members after the concert. Afterparty! At first we were supposed to sleep in a van, but ended up crashing with our new-found musician-friends.

Unbroken Expanse

Headed back to the house next morning, continued drinking wine, cooked some eggs and toast and before going home visited some beaches in the region. A beautiful peninsula: firstly: Meelup beach. We couldn't contain ourselves and ran into the ocean with clothes on (nevertheless we had bikini in the bag).

The waves were prettyyyy strong, trying to come out of the water took some time, panting when we finally made it. (If I exaggerate a tiny bit I can call it a near-drowning experience, even more so, we later discovered the helicopter was searching for sharks and the lifeguards nearby warned people not to go into the water.) Also stoppet at Yallingup Beach. Such a beautiful beach!! Not sure what was it exactly but there was something so precious about that. And the waves!!! Can't wait to get to surf in these beaches.

Clair and Julie were going to Perth on Sunday, on the way there they dropped me and Keiu to Bunbury, we really needed to get some groceries. One quick stop at the beach and exhausted as we were we fell asleep and woke up when the shops were closed. Fail. Hitchiked back home with: first, a lovely couple with an almost-a-year-old kid on the backseat (who was definitely not afraid of strangers and keen to play asap) and secondly, a 21 year old “bush-boy” as he called himself. Cheers guys!

that's how you return a shopping cart you find somewhere out of random

Made it to Coles on sunday morning, caught another band in our Capel local country-club on the afternoon. Mainly a cover band with great voices, but had some good originals too.

 “Arc of Iris”

And had a barbie with the irish ladies in the afternoon. Delish burgers and sausages. Ended the evening laughing in tears over “Animal Planet” and some random tv-shows.

Ibiza, Spain

June 2023 Last time we were on a work-trip to Brussels, decided to take advantage of cheap Ryanair mid-Europe flights and flew to Ibiza for a long weekend. Had been wanting to check this party-hub out for some time. It's dreamy, gorgeous, vibrant, fun and quite expensive. So, in my opinion, a long weekend is exactly a right amount of time to be spent there!
